Painting Class Policy

Cindy Petty, instructor

 

Classes

1. Classes will meet once a week for 2 1/2 hours at the Elberta Arts Center. Classes meet on Thursdays at 12:00 noon and Thursdays at 6:30 pm.

2. Students are expected to furnish their own supplies.

3. Students should refrain from talking while the teacher is explaining or demonstrating.

4. Students are expected to respect the property and feelings of others.

5. Students should feel free to participate in the discussion and learn from the other students as well as the teacher.

Payment

1. Lessons are $30 a month, payable in advance. Checks should be made to Cindy Petty.

2. If the student misses a class, the student may come to another class (i.e. twice in one week) as a make-up class. Make-up classes are the responsibility of the student. If the teacher cancels a class, the time will be made up.

Progress

1. Learning to paint takes time and patience but anyone can learn.

2. Faster progress is made by practicing what you learn. The more practice, the faster the progress and the better the painter.

3. Students should not compare what they do to other students. Each artist has his own style and pieces will automatically be different even if working on the same project and being taught by the same teacher.
